Harry Potter Shirts/Memories

I still can't believe it's all over! Harry Potter has been apart of our lives for so long. Yes, I'm a fan. Yes, I've read every book multiple times, seen every movie and cried through almost the entire last movie. I have a crush on Ron Weasley, and WILL go to Harry Potter land some day.

As a Harry Potter fan it was my duty to make something festive for the occasion.  This is what conjured up with a little bit o' magic.

I used my wand Silhouette to create this. I cut the image out on freezer paper, then ironed it onto my shirt as a stencil. I decided to use glitter instead of paint to make it look all magical. I used the freezer paper stenciling technique. There are a lot of good tutorials out there for freezer paper stenciling if you don't know how to do it. I bought this Tulip Glitter Bond to apply the glitter.

Basically I just rubbed the bond onto the shirt making sure to get it all even, then sprinkled away with my glitter. I peeled off the stencil as soon as I was done and it came off really well, no cracking or peeling of the design. It was kinda of a big huge giant bogey to do. Some of the writing was really detailed and it was a pain to peel off the stencil around those parts, but so worth it in the end.

Hailey got her and I some Harry Potter glasses and wands! She had Hermione's (until she lost it at the movie theater) and I have Ron's. Here's when we got home, one lost wand later.

Here is a close up:

We love you Harry! Thanks for so many magical memories! Our true home will always be Hogwarts as well!

T-swizzle Inspired Tee

What do you get when you mix a love of all the bleach pen t-shirts out there right now, the fact that you can purposely bleach something instead of ruining it and an obsession um a healthy relationship/ appropriate dose of love for Taylor Swift lyrics?

          THIS!!

I mixed two songs of my favorite Taylor Swift lyrics to make this sweet shirt! I think it's pretty much the coolest thing ever. T-Swift would approve, I'm sure of it! Don't test me, yo! I bleach shirts, yo! Oh man.... I know, I need help!

New Shoes!

If you know me, you know I LOVE shoes. I now love to dye shoes too! This project was seriously so much fun. I found this idea on Sweet Verbena. I followed her directions and it was easy peasy. My favorite part was that I was pretty much cooking my shoes with color.

I used this dye for these shoes.

Once I got the dyeing game down, I decided I wanted to have some cute wedges too. I had seen these coral TOMS wedges this summer and thought they were ADORABLE, with a not so adorable price tag.

I was excited when I went to look for the tennis shoes and found some white wedges. I found both pair of shoes at Payless.

I think they are just as cute if not cuter than the TOMS. Go team thrifty! $15 compared to $70!  It took me awhile to get the right coral color. ( We now have a few (like 5 towels) that are various shades of orange at my house.) Someone had to take one for the team! I used Rit Petal Pink and Lemon Yellow at a 3:1 ratio. I get a ton of compliments on these ones.

I think I'm going to go and dye shoes in every color now!

We Will Never Forget

I'm so grateful on this day of remembrance to be an American. I'm thankful to live in a land of freedom and opportunity. I have been so touched by all the stories I have heard in the last few days.

I was able to go to ground zero in 2008. I didn't get to see much as it was all blocked off. There was a lot of construction still going on. It had such a sad feeling about it. I knew I was on hallowed ground. This was the best shot I could get.

I looked up and saw this flag. I couldn't take my eyes away from it. I found it very touching and it was such a reminder of all that happened that day. At the same time, it is symbolizes that through it all we are still standing and fighting together.

I'm so grateful to all those that have and do sacrifice their time and even their lives for our country. I have so much respect for those that so selflessly helped on that day. They are and always will be heroes. To all those that lost their lives that day. We will never forget!

I love this picture. They set up 2,753 empty chairs for each life lost in New York on 9/11.

I'm thankful to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to live in such a great country. I'm proud to be an American!

Mechanical Bam-Bams

I am here to say how much I love my mechanical bam-bams. What are they you ask? I'll let Romeo and Chelsea Hightower explain that to you. Sit back, relax, take a load off and enjoy!

Skip ahead to 43 seconds if you don't want to watch the whole thing....but it's all hilarious so just watch all of it. You won't be sorry you did.

When I first saw this on DWTS I couldn't stop laughing for hours!

I love this video, but I'll tell you why I love mechanical bam-bams more. I had heart surgery in June and couldn't wear a bra after. I remembered this priceless moment and..... lightbulb! I knew the bam-bams were a solution to my problem. Hailey went and picked one out for me.

I have had this bra for 3 months and it still works! So if you know of anyone that is having heart surgery, they will love you forever for giving them some mechanical bam-bams as a gift!
Mine have not fallen off (thank goodness), but I also haven't been bouncing up and down a lot, so who knows!

And to answer your question Romeo.....Yes! That is what girls are wearing these days.

Spiced up plant

My mom got this plant and watering can at IKEA for a friends birthday.
We decided to spice it up a bit.

I found the images on my Silhouette, then cut it out on vinyl.
Super easy and adds a little something special.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

We went to a Dodger's game when we went to Cali this summer. I found a cute baseball image on the Silhouette store and bought it to make a shirt or hat.

I decided to make shirts for the game!

When I bought my Silhouette, I got the heat transfer material with it. I tried it out for this project. It was so easy! Cut and iron!

We got to the game 3 hours early to get these bad boys......

They are bobble heads...of who I don't even remember. The Dodger fans seemed pretty stoked about it. The player was Hall of Famish and was there at the game. It was a pretty big deal for the ole' Dodgers.

   and....

    my dad
Yep!  He is proud of his bobble head! I think this was the highlight of his trip!

Thanks for a fun night Dodgers! Play Ball!
